Lawyers Referral for the Elderly Program

  • The Lawyers Referral for the Elderly Program is a free legal helpline for all New Mexico residents age 55 and older.  The LREP has no income restrictions and offers assistance in most civil legal matters.  If a problem cannot be resolved through the helpline, referrals to private attorneys on a pro bono, reduced-fee, or full fee basis, can be provided.


New Mexico Legal Aid

  • New Mexico Legal Aid is a statewide legal services program that provides free legal services to eligible low-income residents.  Services include domestic violence cases, evictions, foreclosuers, public benefits cases (including unemployment benefits and Social Security disability cases) and consumer law cases.

  • The Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division tracks complaints against businesses operating in New Mexico, offers dispute resolution services to dissatisfied customers, educates the public about consumer issues and investigates suspicious business activities.
